Spotlight on this 1920 Maxwell touring car
The listing shows a black exterior paired with a black interior on a convertible body. The car runs on gasoline and uses a manual transmission. Its open-top design and simple lines from the 1920s make it easy to place in scenes that require an early twentieth-century vehicle. Crews can see the full set of images and details on the USA Movie Cars site.
Rhode Island picture car rental coordinators often look for cars that blend into street scenes or serve as character transport without drawing modern attention. This Maxwell fits that need because its shape and color read as ordinary transportation from its era. The convertible top allows flexibility for both covered and open shots depending on the script requirements.
Rent Vintage Car and the Rhode Island Picture Car Market
Rent Vintage Car focuses on connecting productions with older vehicles suitable for camera work. Through its partnership with USA Movie Cars, the site lists cars like this Maxwell that are based in Little Compton, Rhode Island. Local access reduces travel time for New England shoots and keeps costs lower for day or week-long rentals.
USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Rhode Island Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This network approach means a location manager searching for a Rhode Island film car or Rhode Island movie car can reach listings that would otherwise stay hidden in national databases. The same system supports crews that move between states while still preferring vehicles already positioned in the target region.
History of the 1920 Maxwell touring car
Maxwell produced automobiles in the United States during the first decades of the twentieth century. By 1920 the company offered touring models with open bodies that seated several passengers and suited the roads of that time. These cars featured simple mechanical layouts and were common before closed sedans became widespread.
The touring body style reflected the practical needs of the period, when many owners drove in fair weather and stored the car during winter months. A convertible top provided basic protection while still allowing the open-air experience popular before heaters and all-weather cabins were standard. The Maxwell name itself carried recognition among audiences familiar with early American automotive history.
Rhode Island Picture Car Rental Uses
Producers can use the 1920 Maxwell touring car for establishing shots of 1920s neighborhoods or rural roads in Rhode Island. Its black finish and convertible profile work well as a background vehicle in street scenes or as a primary car for characters traveling between locations. The car supplies texture in period pieces without requiring extensive set dressing.
Commercials and still photography benefit from the same visual qualities. A music video set in the 1920s can place the Maxwell in a parking area or along a roadside to reinforce the timeframe. Event productions and branded content shoots sometimes need a single vintage car for photo opportunities or stage dressing, and this vehicle meets that requirement in a compact package.
