Rent Vintage Car has added the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am through the USA Movie Cars network. This vehicle sits in Mount Washington, Kentucky, giving productions working across the state a local option for a period-correct coupe. Crews can reach the car without long-distance transport when filming in central Kentucky.
Spotlight on this 1979 Pontiac trans am
The listing shows a restored gold Trans Am hardtop with a two-door coupe body, gold exterior, and beige interior. Automatic transmission and gasoline power complete the basic layout. The gold finish and classic lines stand out against modern traffic or period backdrops, offering visual contrast that helps a vehicle register on screen or in stills.
Producers often look for cars that read clearly from a distance or in wide shots. This Trans Am supplies that presence while fitting late-1970s and early-1980s settings. The restored condition keeps the focus on the original styling rather than wear, which can simplify continuity across multiple takes or shooting days.
Rent Vintage Car and the Kentucky Picture Car Market
Rent Vintage Car lists vehicles for film, television, commercial, and photography work through the USA Movie Cars network. Mount Washington, Kentucky, places this Trans Am within easy reach of Louisville and Lexington productions as well as smaller regional shoots. Local placement reduces transit time and cost for crews already working in the state.
USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Kentucky Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This connection lets location managers search Kentucky picture car rental options without leaving the main network. The result is faster matching between available cars and upcoming shoots across Kentucky.
History of the 1979 Pontiac trans am
The 1979 Trans Am belongs to the second-generation Firebird platform that ran through the late 1970s and early 1980s. Pontiac built these coupes as performance-oriented variants of the Firebird line, and the model year sits at the end of an era before major design changes in the 1980s. The body style, hood shape, and rear spoiler treatment became signature elements that later productions use to signal the period.
Gold paint and beige interior were among the factory color combinations offered that year. Restored examples preserve those original tones while updating mechanical systems for reliability. The car therefore supplies authentic 1970s visual cues without requiring crews to source or modify newer vehicles to match the decade.
Kentucky Picture Car Rental Uses
A 1979 Trans Am works for establishing shots that place a scene in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Its gold color and two-door profile add texture to street scenes, driveways, or parking lots where background vehicles help sell the time period. Directors can also use the car as a character vehicle for supporting roles that need a distinctive but not overly flashy ride.
Commercial and music-video shoots in Kentucky can park the Trans Am in frame for product tie-ins or lifestyle sequences. Still photographers gain a mobile prop that photographs well from multiple angles and in different lighting. Event producers sometimes request the car for themed gatherings or branded activations where a vintage coupe reinforces a retro aesthetic without dominating the space.
