1987 Ford F-150 Rental Added in Maine

Rent Vintage Car has added this 1987 Ford F-150 to its Maine picture car rental options through the USA Movie Cars network. Located in Portland, Maine, the truck gives productions a ready option for scenes that call for a working vehicle with period character from the late 1980s into the early 2000s.

Spotlight on this 1987 Ford F-150

The truck appears in classic deep green with a cream accent stripe and original-style steel wheels. Its clean bed, chrome bumper, tow hitch, and rear window rack allow crews to add props or gear without extra fabrication. Light natural wear keeps the appearance realistic rather than overly restored, which helps it blend into rural or coastal shots.

Producers can use the two-door body style and manual transmission details to match late-1980s through 1990s settings. The beige interior and gasoline powertrain further support blue-collar roles without drawing attention away from the story. Portland, Maine placement means the vehicle sits close to both wooded and shoreline locations that many New England productions need.

History of the 1987 Ford F-150

The 1987 Ford F-150 belongs to a generation of full-size pickups that dominated American roads during the 1980s. Ford updated the F-Series with revised front-end styling and continued offering both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations. The XLT Lariat trim added chrome accents and upgraded interior appointments while keeping the truck’s core utility intact.

By the late 1980s the F-150 had become a familiar sight in both urban and rural settings across New England. Its straightforward lines and functional bed made it a common choice for contractors, tradespeople, and everyday drivers. The model year sits squarely inside the era many productions seek when recreating 1980s or 1990s environments without modern distractions.

Maine Picture Car Rental Uses

This 1987 Ford F-150 works well for contractor or tradesman characters in indie films and scripted series. Its understated green finish and period wheels supply background texture in establishing shots of small towns or coastal roads. Crews filming commercials or lifestyle content can place it in front of New England homes or job sites to reinforce an authentic working-class feel.

Still photographers and music video directors often need a vehicle that reads as everyday rather than flashy. The clean bed and rear window rack allow quick prop changes for different scenes. Event and branded content shoots can use the truck as a stationary set piece or a moving element in short sequences that reference late-1980s through 1990s aesthetics.
